Learn How Befriending Works
To befriend a creature, walk up to any non-corrupted creature and press the interact button to open the friendship screen.

Every creature has a Bestiary entry you level up by interacting with that species through petting, defeating, befriending, leveling, and trading food.
One of the most important Bestiary rewards is health upgrades.
Each creature’s unlock screen typically lets you increase your max health by three points. Since combat is real-time and you take hits fast, these boosts are critical for survival.
The Bestiary also unlocks party size increases and encourages befriending multiple copies of the same creature for exclusive cosmetic rewards and bonus items.
Prioritize spending unlock points on health boosts and party slots early for the biggest impact.
Experiment with Skill Gems and Equipment
Skill Gems are the primary way you customize how your creatures perform in combat. These gems alter creature abilities and can completely shift your strategy depending on how you slot them.
Some gems boost raw damage, while others add utility effects or change how abilities work.
