Here’s a quick, no-spoiler guide to jumping into all the new (free!) goodies Sandfall just announced for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 during the 2025 Game Awards.
Update your game to Patch 1.5.0
The “Thank You” update is live across all platforms as Patch 1.5.0. It adds a brand-new playable area, late-game boss fights, Photo Mode, new weapons/Luminas/cosmetics, more languages, QoL features, and performance tweaks.
New Level: Verso’s Drafts (free DLC area)
Prerequisites
- Be in Act III.
- Have Esquie’s Underwater (dive) ability unlocked.
Where to find it
- Open the World Map (The Continent) and head near Lumière.
- Look for the entrance on the water’s surface by a small outcrop decorated with toys/candy; dive to enter Verso’s Drafts.
What’s inside
A full new biome inspired by Verso’s childhood, with fresh encounters, 13 new weapons, 16 Luminas, plus new costumes and hairstyles to unlock.
Important tip
If you plan to see Verso’s Drafts right away, don’t jump into NG+ yet, you’ll need to progress back to Act III to access it again.
Extra Late-Game Bosses: Endless Tower
The patch adds a “slew of new boss battles” in the Endless Tower for late-game players.
Clearing parry-heavy challenges up the tower rewards new Pictos, costumes, and other gear.
If you’ve already reached endgame, head back to the Tower and check the newest tiers.
Photo Mode (yes, it’s robust)
Photo Mode is now built in and works during cinematics. You can adjust filters (33 of them of course), FoV, color grading, and place up to 10 fully customizable lights, and the free camera has no collision, letting you capture “backstage” angles.
Find it in the pause/options menu once you’ve updated.
Quality-of-Life & Accessibility Highlights
This update also adds a handful of quality-of-life and accessibility options.
- Lumina loadout presets and search filters for easier build management.
- Ability to abandon battles from the menu.
- New localizations added: Czech, Ukrainian, Spanish (LatAm), Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian (now 19 languages total).
- Controller remapping and HUD scaling options, plus several handheld PC improvements (Steam Deck certification, fixed 30 FPS cap, VSync toggle).
New Music
There’s also several new music tracks composed by Lorien Testard and they’re all fantastic.

Bonus tidy-up for completionists
There’s one more small but handy change for collectors: you can now obtain the Old Key near the end of the game if you missed it early, helping finish out journals in a single playthrough.
