Square Enix just dropped a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergarde, this is the PS5 remake version that includes that extra DLC chapter with Yuffie.
Here’s the trailer in the original Japanese:
And here’s the same trailer in English:
Note that they’re calling this a “Final Trailer” so this should be the last we see of this until release.
The first major thing we noticed right away is all the gameplay is now in 60fps which looks really great. You’ll also notice improvements to the textures, lighting and graphics which you’d expect since this is coming out on the PS5.
They also showed off some gameplay of the Fort Condor minigame you might remember from the original FFVII. In this world it looks like it’s a fancy little board game. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to the actual Fort Condor location later in future episodes of the game. It might not be there at all which really wouldn’t be a big deal since it didn’t really have much to do with the story and fighting to protect condor eggs was kind of weird.
You’ll also notice characters like Nero from Dirge of Cerberus making an appearance. It looks like they’re tying in a bunch of stuff from the spin-off games which is neat.
The summon Ramuh also makes an appearance, Ramuh was missing from the game originally, you only had Shiva and Ifrit.
Ultimately though I still have concerns about how convoluted this remake is starting to get. I’m still interested in playing this but since I don’t have a PS5 and I’m not confident that they’re not going to still release more DLC for this game I think I’m going to wait until it comes out for PC.
At the end of the trailer it does say:
Available on PS5 at least six months earlier than any other format
So it’s definitely coming to PC, it’s just a matter of when.
The trailer’s pretty shiny though and not going to lie, I definitely want to play this.
