Welcome to My Little Cafe Nightmare, the cozy little sim where you brew coffee for ghosts, ghouls, and whatever else wanders in from the dark.
You play a barista in a crumbling haunted cafe, and your job is to serve strange drinks, fix the place up, and turn a rotting wreck into somewhere monsters actually want to hang out.
It starts simple, but there are a few systems the game does not fully explain.
These beginner tips will smooth out your messy first few days so you can focus on the fun part, which is making weird coffee for weirder customers.

Use your morning prep time, there is no clock on it
Time only moves forward once you actually open the cafe. Before that, you can take as long as you want to restock shelves, set your menu, and get everything in place.
So slow down and breathe. There is no penalty for a long prep session, and walking in prepared beats scrambling once ghostly customers start lining up.
If you enjoy relaxed games that reward patience over panic, this one sits right alongside cozy picks like Mika and The Witch’s Mountain. Treat the prep window as your friend, not dead time.

Keep your opening menu small and match it to your stock
The menu board lets you advertise four drinks at once, and you can name each one, set its temperature, choose ingredients, and pick a price.
It is tempting to fill all four slots right away and call yourself a coffee genius.
Here is the catch. If you put a drink on the board that you do not have the ingredients for, the game blocks you from opening and tells you the menu is wrong.
Start with something you can actually make, like a mild coffee served hot and cold.
Build the menu around what is sitting on your shelves, not around what sounds cool.

Learn the bean and blend system early
You begin with one bean type, mild, which you can serve hot or cold. That is your whole world for a little while, and that is fine.
As you progress you unlock new bean flavors, milk, and eventually a machine that blends different beans together into custom drinks. This blending machine is where the game opens up.
Spend a little time experimenting with combinations once you have a few flavors unlocked.
Figuring out which blends your customers go for is half the fun of running the place.

Price your drinks by what is in the cup
Pricing is not random. The more expensive the beans you use, and the more flavors packed into a blend, the more your customers are willing to pay.
That means a basic mild coffee should stay cheap, while a multi-flavor specialty blend can carry a much higher price tag. Charge too much for a plain cup and customers balk.
Once your blending machine is running, lean into fancy multi-flavor drinks as your main earners.
That is where the real Soulcoins come from.

Order supplies through the computer before you run dry
You restock by placing orders on the little in-game computer. The important detail is the delivery time, since boxes usually arrive one to two hours after you open, not instantly.
So order ahead. If you wait until you are completely out of beans mid-rush, you will be standing around with nothing to serve while customers pile up.
Get into the habit of checking your stock during morning prep and ordering whatever is running low. A small buffer keeps your day flowing.

Set up your counter for speed
Everything behind the counter is yours to arrange. Cups, coffee grounds, the dishwasher, your workstations, all of it can be placed wherever makes sense to you.
A tidy, logical layout saves you a surprising amount of running back and forth once orders start stacking up.
Put your most-used items within easy reach.
Do not forget the serving tray, which lets you carry up to six cups at once instead of ferrying them one by one.
On a busy day, that tray is the difference between calm and chaos.

Add seating or your dishware walks out the door
Customers want somewhere to sit while they enjoy their drink. If there are not enough seats, they tend to leave with your cups still in hand, and you lose the dishware.
So make seating an early priority. More chairs means happier guests and fewer cups vanishing into the night.
Expanding your seating area also lets you serve more customers at once as your cafe grows. It pays for itself quickly.

Stay on top of cleaning and daily upkeep
Mess builds up over time, and you are the one who has to clean it. Nobody else is going to scrub the place, so keep an eye on it between orders.
There is also a daily upkeep cost to think about. Things like your lights quietly drain Soulcoins every single day, whether or not you sell a single cup.
Watch that running cost as you add more lights and equipment. It is easy to expand yourself into a daily loss if you stop paying attention.

Handle the anomalies
This is a haunted cafe, so the spooky side is not just for show. Strange anomalies turn up and cause disruptions you need to deal with.
Keeping these under control is part of the daily rhythm, right alongside brewing and cleaning. Ignore them and your nice cozy shift gets a lot more hectic.
Treat anomaly management as a normal chore rather than an emergency. Once you know what to look for, it becomes second nature.

Decorate to repair the rot and build the vibe
Your cafe starts as a run-down wreck, and fixing it up is a core part of the game. You can paint the walls any color, swap out flooring and wallpaper, and add all kinds of decorations.
This is not only cosmetic. Restoring the space and making it inviting is how you turn a nightmare into a place ghostly guests want to return to.
If you love the decorating side of cozy sims, you will feel at home here, the same way you would in Whisper of the House.
Restoring a neglected building back to life also echoes the repair-and-revive loop in Japanese Rural Life Adventure, which is one of our favorite cozy games.

Check the in-game wiki when you are stuck
The game tucks a full wiki right into the menu, and a lot of new players miss it. It is packed with details on ingredients, mechanics, and how various systems work.
Any time you are unsure about a recipe or an item, pop it open before you go hunting around online. It is the fastest way to get an answer.

Settling into your haunted cafe
The best way to play My Little Cafe Nightmare is to go slow and let it grow on you.
Nail your basics first, keep your menu honest to your stock, and only expand once your daily routine is humming along.
Once that loop clicks, the haunted cafe stops feeling like a nightmare and starts feeling like home.
Brew some strange coffee, fix up the place, and enjoy being the friendliest barista the afterlife has ever seen.
