I mentioned before in my previous post about my Etsy and Instagram custom proxy magic card deep dive that ProxyPantheon on Etsy was probably my favorite artist out of everyone I found.
I’ve placed two orders with them now and this post is a review of the cards themselves, my experience buying from this Etsy seller and what to expect.
Right away I was attracted to the art. It’s a very unique style unlike any other cards anyone else makes.
I like how the frames and layout of the cards look official and how these almost pass off as “official.”
Another small, subtle thing I really like is the mana symbols. They’re minimalist and clearly convey what color and symbol they are. I like these symbols better than the ones on the official cards.

My First Order from ProxyPantheon
My first order with them was a test to see the quality and everything. I didn’t want to order a ton of cards only to find out the final products weren’t great.
I ordered a handful of different looking Final Fantasy cards and one Displacer Kitten because I really liked the art on that card.
ProxyPantheon has almost two different art styles, one for characters (mostly female characters) and one for other cards like what you see with the Displacer Kitten and Traveling Chocobo.
I do like this second art style a bit better but they’re both very nice.
The cards themselves feel great, the thickness is great, the printing is very nice and the overall quality is fantastic.

The only complaint I really have is the back of the cards.
It’s a cute little joke but I think I would have preferred a bit of a nicer looking back.
But that being said all these cards are either going into a binder or a card sleeve with an opaque back so I’m never going to see these again after I organize everything.
ProxyPantheon also included a free card with my order.

It’s a nice card and one I was probably going to buy anyways but if you look closely you can see it’s a miscut card, everything’s pushed up a bit too high.
The top of the title frame is cut off while there’s extra black space at the bottom.
I guess giving away imperfect cards that you can’t sell is a good idea. Since the card was free I can’t really complain and a lot of people probably won’t mind.
The cards also shipped pretty quickly but they were sent through USPS and they took a long time, like almost 3-4 weeks to arrive.
That’s not ProxyPantheon’s fault but it was kind of frustrating.
My Second order from ProxyPantheon
Because my first order was a success and the quality was there I added a ton of cards to my basket and waited for the inevitable Black Friday sale.
I placed the order and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was sent express and I received it after about just one week.
The packaging is excellent, the cards are all placed in a plastic card sleeve and then in these nice cardboard card envelopes to protect everything.

Each envelope and sleeve had about 6 to 8 cards in it.
I ordered the rest of their Final Fantasy cards as seen below.

I had to get all of them to complete the collection. These will go with the other Final Fantasy cards I’m trying to collect.
It’s a unique art style for each of these characters and I’d say it works for most of them except for the Yuna, Grand Summoner card. I can’t really see Yuna from the game looking like that.
I also got several cards with dragons.

I love the art on all of these.
The Ur-Dragon had an option to get a foil version so I figured that was the card to do it with. The foil version is great too, it’s shiny but the ink and printing still looks clear and vibrant.
I also ordered a bunch of different cat and animal themed cards.

I especially like the art on the Mystic Remora card as well as the Badgermole Cub card.
It’s nice to be able to get a Badgermole Cub card that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg too since the prices on those are crazy right now.

The cat and racoon artwork on these cards really is fantastic.
Right before I was going to place the order ProxyPantheon released a 4-card set of “Cat-Mander” staples and I just had to get those too.

And finally I also ordered several different Land cards that I quite liked the artwork on.

And then as one final surprise ProxyPantheon also threw in a free Treasure Token card.

And this time it’s a proper card, not a miscut so that’s a nice little bonus too.
All the cards had the same back from before except for the “Cat-Mander” cards and the Treasure Token, those had different backs you can see below.

They’re cute jokes and I probably would have preferred a nicer back but again, these are all going into binders or sleeves so I’ll never see this.
And as a final picture here’s several of the cards in my P’Kup Infinity Curve Sleeves and they look fantastic.

Sorry about the glare from the light and the bit of reflection but that’s the best photo I could get.
Future Orders
There were a handful of other cards that were sold out or unavailable when I placed my second order so I’ll definitely be back to pick those up at some point in the future.
I’ll also be watching carefully for any new cards that get released too.
ProxyPantheon also release a whole “Cat Tribal” deck and I’m quite tempted to pick that up too.
Overall I love the cards, the quality is amazing, the experience was fantastic and I’d say most of these cards look better than most of the real Magic cards.
I highly recommend ProxyPantheon.
