The Crusader is a unique class in Unicorn Overlord, a heavily armored royal warrior with skills effective against both flying and armored enemies.
Once promoted to Valkyria, the class gains even more devastating offensive tools that ignore enemy defenses entirely.
This is one of the most powerful frontline classes in the game.
Strengths
The Crusader is one of the few classes that’s effective against both flying enemies and armored targets. Anti-flying and anti-armor skills in a single class means the Crusader has favorable matchups against a huge range of enemies.
Their defense is excellent, with high physickal defense and solid HP making them durable frontliners. They can absorb significant punishment while dealing strong damage.
After promotion, Valkyrias gain attacks that ignore enemy defense entirely, bypassing guard and armor. This makes them effective against literally every enemy type, there’s almost nothing a Valkyria can’t handle offensively.
The Valkyria also gains a Fortify effect at the start of battle, buffing the entire unit’s defense.
The leader effect, Resist Ranged Assist, reduces incoming ranged assist damage.
Weaknesses
Low initiative means the Crusader acts late in combat, which can be frustrating when you want to eliminate threats quickly.
They lack ranged attacks entirely, so they can’t reach enemies in the back row without column-piercing support.
The class is limited to Virginia and the post-game Ilenia, so you can’t field many of them.
Key Skills and How to Use Them
Sacred Strike deals anti-flying and anti-armor damage. Extremely versatile.
Shield Bash stuns enemies, providing crowd control.
Valkyria Strike (Valkyria only) ignores enemy defense entirely, one of the most powerful offensive skills in the game.
Fortify (Valkyria passive) buffs the entire unit’s defense at battle start.
Promotion to Valkyria
Absolutely promote this class. Defense-ignoring attacks make the Valkyria effective against every enemy in the game, and Fortify provides excellent team support.

Crusader + Wizard/Witch pairs physical and magick damage for complete coverage.
Crusader + Soldier gives you column attacks behind the Crusader’s tanky frontline.

Characters Who Use This Class
Virginia is the primary Crusader, bearing the blood of Cornia’s royalty. She’s available through the main story.
Ilenia is a post-game Valkyria who joins after “Dying Breath of an Empire Fallen.” She arrives already promoted.
